A heat pump makes a lot of sense on the coast: mild winters are exactly the conditions where it is most efficient, and one system covers the whole year. They are also less forgiving than a straight AC-and-furnace pairing — defrost behaviour, refrigerant charge, auxiliary heat staging and thermostat configuration all have to be right or the system will run up bills and still feel wrong. We install, service and repair them, including ductless mini-splits for additions, garages and rooms the ductwork never reached properly.
